I got a new GPU! Initially I wanted to upgrade all parts at once, but I saw a decent deal on the used market so I took the opportunity. New unopened box including the receipt, over 50€ cheaper.

It's not doing much for me right now since I'm still CPU bottlenecked (or something cursed is going on), can't get stable 60 FPS in Elden Ring at any settings on Linux.

But at least I finally get to see what raytracing looks like!

@tracefree This one’s a real long shot, but in case you just happen to have the same issue I had: Sway’s max_render_time really messes with Elden Ring in particular, if you’re using Sway and have set that very specific config parameter Setting it to “off” made Elden Ring run fine.

@tracefree weird, elden ring always run quite fine on my computer (which is a decade old outside gpu)

@tracefree @memoriesin8bit Does it run via Proton (wine etc.)? Cos that's some layers that have got to chew perf.

@tracefree @dbat @memoriesin8bit Yeah, elden ring in specific is one of the tittle that runs quite better on linux than windows, so it's weird.

@tracefree have you monitored your cpu usage while playing ?
